Customer satisfaction, a term frequently used in marketing, is a measure of how products and services supplied by a company meet or surpass customer expectation. Customer satisfaction is defined as "the number of customers, or percentage of total customers, whose reported experience with a firm, its products, or its services (ratings) exceeds specified satisfaction goals.

It is seen as a key performance indicator within business and is often part of a Balanced Scorecard. In a competitive marketplace where businesses compete for customers, customer satisfaction is seen as a key differentiator and increasingly has become a key element of business strategy. In the present economy, a company cannot run to alienate its clients. Companies need to maintain and keep their client platform. Serious actions may need to be taken to create sure this is done effectively and create sure their clients keep investing with them.

Sometimes a company cannot contest with another company, which either imports a product directly or purchases in larger amount. We see this in every market every day. Thus an effort needs to be created to add extra value to the item, and assure clients that you are there to help, support and guidance.

Every company should invest in the future for when times get tough again. Constantly monitoring and assessing yourself is important. By doing this your customers will be as devoted to you as you are to them. These brand loyalists would usually also be start to new and improved items and services.
